When Quizlet is the better choice

Quizlet is the better choice if you want to find ready-made sets instead of writing your own, study in a browser, or use games in class. Its library of user-made sets covers almost every school subject, Match and Test add variety, and teachers can run classes with it.

When Flashcards is the better choice

Flashcards is the better choice if you make your own cards and want to remember them long-term. It runs completely offline without an account, shows no ads, and tells you exactly when each card comes back. With Flashcards Plus you can share a topic with a partner while each of you keeps your own progress. See all features and Plus prices.

From Quizlet sets to Leitner boxes

In Quizlet you usually open a set and study it from start to end. In Flashcards you do not have to choose what to study: each day the due session shows the cards whose review date has arrived. Known cards move up a box and come back after 3, 7, 14 and 30 days; forgotten cards return to Box 1. That is the Leitner system, a simple form of spaced repetition.

Moving your sets

Flashcards cannot import Quizlet sets today, and there is no CSV import. If you switch, recreate the sets you are actively learning; typing them again doubles as a first review. Your Quizlet account and sets stay where they are.
